Our Nature Explore Classroom is certified through the Arbor Day Foundation & Dimensions Foundation. We are the only certified Nature Explore Classroom in Omaha. We are scheduled to offer all day workshops to share our wonderful outdoor environment with others in desiring to bring children out into nature. Check out our web page on the their National website by clicking here.
The Nature Explore Classroom has may components including; 36 newly planted trees, raised vegetable gardens, butterfly garden, herb garden, sun flower tunnel, dry creek bed, nature art area, digging area building area, tree house, beaver den and picnic patio.
Children attending the Early Childhood Center experience the growth process from planting the seeds in the garden beds to harvesting and eating the produce they grow. The Early Childhood Center staff are committed to promoting healthy eating habits and offer “home cooked” family style meals which feature the fruits and vegetables the children grow at the center.
Not only do we want to serve the children healthy organic foods, we want to help control obesity in children, which is a national problem, by keeping them active. Our children experience large motor activities everyday in our outdoor classroom of 2800 square feet.
